back to reality
Before we went away we bought a new washing machine a Miele and they are heavier than our last Hotpoint. As we live in a upside down house the utility room is upstairs and when the Miele gets spinning the floor was shaking. While in Germany looking round a large D.I.Y. store (as you do on holiday) we saw this anti vibration mat for 10 euros all you have to do is cut it to size fit a thin piece of plywood on the top to stop the feet sinking into the rubber. And slide it underneath, this has made it a lot quieter and stopped the floor vibration a lot. One good piece of advice when moving heavy appliances squirt some washing up liquid under the feet and they slide in a lot easier.
